The Concept

The Tyler Foundation is a Japanese NPO dedicated to making life better for kids with cancer, and their families in Japan since 2006.

The ShineOn! Therapy Dog program is one of the initiatives the Tyler Foundation is seeking to fund. This program has been hugely successful in America and has raised the quality of life of countless children.

The key component is a dog that has been trained to be loving, happy, friendly and provide plenty of affection to all the kids.

We think it would be fantastic to bring the same program to Japan.

Unfortunately, there are many associated costs for this program. There needs to be a full-time dog trainer and handler, accommodation, medical costs, food.

It’s very expensive – for the first year, the costs are expected to be 10,000,000 yen.

….but! We have a plan.

The Plan

We’re planning to host 4 events over a 1 year period. Each event will have a different theme.

• Summer Theme (25th of July)
• Winter Theme
• Undecided – suggestions?
• Dog Theme (Raffle!)

At every event, we’re going to be selling raffle tickets for 1,000 yen each. At the final event, we’ll draw the raffle. Here are the prizes you’ll be able to win at this raffle.

We’ll be accepting any generous donations you might be able to spare at each event.
